The crissal thrasher is amazing with that long curved bill. It occurs in southern New Mexico in a wide variety of environments, but I took this photo in the Rio Grande riparian area north of Las Cruces. The background Gila Monster photo was taken in southern New Mexico too, but to the east near Carlsbad.
